Is golf fun to play? 3 Reasons it really is fun sport

In over 85 percent of the world’s 245 countries, golf is played by 60 million individuals, so it must have something going for it.

Many People Including my partner and I  love golf for a number of different reasons, here are few of them.

Golfing in the Great Outdoors

Golf is, by definition, played outside. It enables all players to get outside and enjoy the fresh air in any weather conditions.
Golf may be played in all weather conditions, whether it’s bright or cloudy, hot or cold, dry or rainy.

Other games are guarded and played within fixed lines, gates, or walls, whereas golf grounds allow players to roam over several hundred acres or more.

Golf courses can offer spectacular views and, when compared to other prominent sports, few rivals in terms of setting.

There are golf courses that run alongside seas and golden beaches, some that run through forests and parklands, and still others with breathtaking mountain views.

It is always fun to have some healthy competition!

Golf is not a physically demanding sport. A lot of people don’t think that way, which is why they can play for so long if they want to!

I regard golf as an expensive way of playing marbles.”G.K. Chesterton

Golfers can walk up to 3.5 -5  kilometres on a typical 18-hole round. They include uphill, downhill, sand and difficult terrains. You may get your heart pumping with any sort of physical activity.

A lot of health benefits are associated with playing golf consistently, including enhanced sleep, increased fitness and lower stress.

Also, golfers are constantly challenged by the course itself as well as their playing partners, letting them express their competitive instincts in the process.

Many retired professional athletes, and many others, play golf for this reason.

As a physical activity, it gives individuals an opportunity to use their competitive tendencies once more.

Golfers will tell you that nothing is more enjoyable than a well-earned triumph over a close friend, which you may relive over and over in the years to come!!

It’s Fun because its Addictive!

Even a single round of golf can provide bliss and anguish.

Often, a superb stroke is immediately followed by one of the worst shots you have ever hit, and golfers get obsessed to seeing if their next shot will be another brilliant one.

When you hole your first long putt, go up and down, hit a long straight drive or break 100, 90, 80, 70 for the first time, it’s a significant occasion.

As golfers, we enjoy watching things fly. Since the beginning of time, people have liked seeing objects, like birds, fly.

A good golfer has the determination to win and the patience to wait for the breaks.” -Gary Player

A golfer will spend hours hitting a golf ball to watch it soar. Playing golf is therapeutic as well as enjoyable.

One of the most fascinating things about golf is how it reflects the cycle of life. No matter what you shoot – the next day you have to go back to the first tee and begin all over again and make yourself into something.” -Peter Jacobsen

When it comes down to it, it is just you and your head attempting to convince yourself that you are capable of hitting that little white ball across thousands of yards with minimal margin for error.

“Golf… is the infallible test. The man who can go into a patch of rough alone, with the knowledge that only God is watching him, and play his ball where it lies, is the man who will serve you faithfully and well.” P.G. Wodehouse

Before every shot, you’ll be dealing with a lot of thoughts, many of them negative.

Golf is a Breath of new Life and fresh air

Golf is, by definition, played outside. It enables all players to get outside and enjoy the fresh air in any weather conditions.

There are golf courses next to seas and beautiful beaches, courses through forests and parklands, courses with stunning mountain views, and even courses that end within a minute walk of town centres.

“No matter how good you get, you can always get better — and that’s the exciting part.”Tiger Woods

Wildlife enthusiasts can expect to see birds, deer, foxes, squirrels, butterflies, eagles, geese, rabbits, ducks, and even alligators and snakes.

And any activity that brings you outside in the fresh air is good for your health.

Vitamin D acquired from sunlight strengthens individuals’ immune systems and, in particular, supports bone and cell growth in children.

As many as 17 muscle groups are involved in the golf swing, and the sport is recognised as such by the International Olympic Committee.

This is the equivalent of burning 273 calories by performing yoga or playing tennis.

If you play for two to five hours, your heart rate will average 100 beats per minute, and you’ll walk more than the 10,000 steps per day needed for weight loss.
