I Lost My Golf Swing – Tips to regain it!

We have all said it at some point in our lives as golfers

“I’ve lost control of my golf swing – please help!”

Well, it is something similar to writers Block or the Creative block happens to writers and Creative people. If you are currently struggling and believe you have lost your golf swing, keep calm and follow along with us as we walk you through the steps to help you regain control of your golf swing.

We’ll take it step by step and assist you in returning to the level you expect, and perhaps even finding a way to get better in the process.

I understand that all you’re concerned about is getting back to where you were, which may have been as recently as last week.

Golf can be a frustrating sport to play. The first thing you must realise is that even the best golfers in the world can experience swing problems from time to time.

It is not uncommon to see a professional golfer shoot 65 one day and then turn around and not even break par the following day, or vice versa.

The important thing to remember is that your self-worth and identity should not be determined solely by your golf scores. Instead, remind yourself that you are playing the game for entertainment purposes.

That we are fortunate to be able to participate in the game of golf whenever we have the opportunity to get away and spend some time on the golf course.

We will guide you through the process step by step!

Step 1 – Determine the trajectory of your ball flight.

First and foremost, we must determine what is causing your poor shots.

Are you having trouble getting the ball into the air? Are you hitting the ball with your back to the ball? Is it possible that you’re shanking the ball?

Are you attempting to hook the ball? Whatever the issue, we need to get back to the basics of what is going on.

Take out your cell phone and record yourself performing your golf swing.

Let’s check to see that your grip is where it should be. Let’s make certain you’re aiming in the right direction.

Step 2 – Let’s take a few half-court shots.

Let’s go to the driving range and practise hitting some half-shots while there.

The L to L Drill is an excellent choice for this application.

Simply take your swing back until your lead arm is parallel to the ground, and then swing through until your lead arm is parallel to the ground once more to complete the motion.

This drill will assist you in resetting your swing and regaining some feel for it.

It’s possible that your swing had become excessively long and that you were committing some serious swing flaws, which could have resulted in some disastrous results.

achieve the right mindset, I highly recommend the following two books to you.

Watch the below Video to get to know more about how to regain lost swing.

Step 3 – Go to the driving range and play a round of golf.

Now that you’ve regained some of your confidence. I would recommend practising 20-30 shots with the L to L Drill and paying attention to whether or not you are making crisp contact.

Let’s get some practise in with some of the shots we’ll be facing on the course.

Consider your favourite course, the one where you perform the best, and visualise the first hole.

Set some markers on the driving range to represent the boundaries that you would face on your first tee shot before you begin your round.

Toss that tee shot and then make an educated guess as to how many shots you would have left for your approach shot.

Pull the iron that you would need for the approach shot if you want to go ahead and do so. For the first nine holes of the course, repeat this procedure as much as possible. This will take approximately 18 shots.

Then go ahead and hit another 20 L to L Swings, and then play the back nine at the driving range using the same approach you used on the front nine.

Step 4- Good Training

It is essential that we train to become better if we are to truly improve and avoid being in a situation where we feel completely helpless.

It is one thing to attend a lesson, but it is quite another to commit to and put into practise what we have learned.

One way to avoid receiving extremely poor scores is to work on improving your short game.

Typically, we have no idea what our swing will look like on any given day, but we can have some confidence that we will be able to hit chip or pitch shots from 10 to 40 yards out with reasonable consistency.

We also want to give the ball a fighting chance to go in on every putt that is within 30 feet of the hole on the greens.

The best part about the short game is that it is completely free to play, and you could see significant improvements in your score in as little as 20-30 minutes, several times a week, if you practise regularly.

We can all benefit from increasing our swing speeds in order to hit longer drives and shorter approach shots to the greens in the long run when it comes to long-term training. Eventually, we will be able to hit the ball closer to the hole and make more putts.

Fundamental statistics demonstrate that fast swing speeds are associated with a variety of positive outcomes in the golf game….

So, what is the best way to improve your swing speed? I would strongly advise trying a variety of different approaches.

Examine all two of these alternatives to determine which is the best fit for you.

Consider your wrists to be levers as you swing your golf club; this will help you achieve a more powerful swing.

As you pull the club away from your body, a hinge will form in both of your wrists.

Your wrists should stay in a hinged position until just before contact for the best possible golf swing.

Concentrate on rotation: the rotation of your upper body in comparison to the rotation of your lower body will have a significant influence on the pace of your swing.

While the rest of your upper body rotates through 90 degrees and your back faces the target at the top, your hips only spin through 45 degrees, which is just half of that angle.

Step 5 – Manage Your Game – Prevent the Feeling of Being “Lost” in the Game.

Stop feeling “lost” in your game by managing your play.

Too many golfers have tried to hit a hero shot and then become frustrated when it doesn’t come off, in my opinion.

The par 5 hole requires a 220-yard carry over water. Then, you can hit the green for a chance at birdie.

Make sure that the shots you choose to take are realistic. Hero golf can lead to bad habits, such as over-swinging, and the belief that we aren’t playing well when, in fact, we are.

Key Take Away !

How about we take a look at how we think? Our golf mindset and mental game can be our worst enemies.

It is instinctive for our bodies to make the movements we make in a golf swing. However, tension or anxiety can lead to a number of serious health problems.

When we’re trying to play our best, we often end up playing our worst. We’re having an almost out-of-body experience, and we have no idea what’s happening.
